Kyle

Founder & Director

Kyle discovered his love for the outdoors after training in the Royal Marines and is today qualified to coach across multiple disciplines and adventure sports.

He’s worked in the outdoor industry for over 15 years, and been on expedition to 5 continents to climb mountains and paddle rivers all before founding Original Wild.

He lives in Bath and loves to introduce new travellers to the South West.

Aghi

Aghi spent the last two years sitting down on the job – he was an accomplished chair maker before deciding that he’d like to try standing up for a change. He likes to stand on rock faces, mountain tops and anywhere near cake.

He studied Outdoor Leadership at the University of Cumbria where he fell in love with sea kayaking and canoeing. Currently living in the southwest he enjoys helping people from all backgrounds discover new experiences in the outdoors.

Rory

Rory is a keen outdoorsman with a real passion for conservation and adventure sports. With experience in outdoor education on both sides of the pond, he loves to introduce people of all ability levels to new activities!

A former competition swimmer and rock climber who is at home in the South West, Rory can often be found surfing, walking in the Brecon Beacons, or sunbathing halfway up a rock face!

Alfie

When he’s not skiing down the slopes or kayaking down rapids, he’s off exploring the great outdoors with one of his many trusty rucksacks and sense of curiosity. With his curly hair, and free-spirited approach, Alfie loves taking on any new challenge.

It’s also not uncommon to spot him partaking in the pleasures of a Lady Gaga concert, savouring delicious cheesecake, or indulging in a refreshing piña colada!

Al

Al has worked in the outdoors for over 10 years in a variety of different settings. He specialises in the therapeutic benefits that nature and adventure bring.

Spending time outdoors and exploring new places, especially mountains and forests, is what he most enjoys. He’s great at lighting fires and even better at lying in a hammock! He’s even been known to do a headstand on a paddleboard.

Ann

Ann is our resident dog-sup expert. With a passion for archery, paddleboarding, and exploring forests, Ann brings a wealth of experience with when it comes to working with people in the outdoors.

Her love of the natural world is contagious, and she’s always eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with others. Whether she’s hitting the bullseye with an arrow or gliding across the water on her paddleboard, you’ll always find Ann with a smile on her face.

James

Great with a hammer, paddleboard, or microphone! James works in the construction industry and freelances in his spare time for Original Wild.

When he’s not working he can mostly be found up the side of a mountain, touring his campervan or falling off a surfboard. James really believes in the benefits of being outdoors and enjoys every second of adventure!

Laurie

After winning the most amount of hours spent on a SUP in his first season with us back in 2020, Laurie has gone on to become a natural paddlesports leader!

Originally a competitive trampolinist, keen surfer and traveller, he wanted a career change and found he was most at home in the world of outdoor instructing. He has awesome skills and knowledge of Bath & the South West.

Look out for Laurie on the North coast of Devon and on the hills in the Lake District – he’s up for seeking adventure in any weather!

Rachel

Rachel has worked in outdoor education since 2003 – in our opinion she hasn’t had a ‘real job’ in over 18 years! Her work has taken her all over the world but she has now made Bath her home – an obvious choice!

Rachel is slowly exploring the South West coastline this summer in between Original Wild sessions where she maintains that although she *can* backflip off the SUP, there is no need to prove it…

Outside of work Rachel can be found either on or near a body of water, or on a mountain bike winging it down a steep hill!
