Founder / Director

Kyle discovered his love for the outdoors after training in the Royal Marines and is today qualified to coach across multiple disciplines and adventure sports.

He’s worked in the outdoor industry for over 13 years, been on expedition to 5 continents to climb mountains and paddle rivers all before founding Original Wild.

He still lives in Bath and loves to introduce new travellers to the South West.

After winning the most amount of hours spent on a SUP in his first season with us back in 2020, Laurie has gone on to become a natural paddlesports leader!

Originally a competitive trampolinist, keen surfer and traveller, he wanted a career change. He’s now a major part of the OW family with awesome skills and knowledge of Bath & the South West.

Look out for Laurie on the North coast of Devon and on the hills in the Lake District – he’s up for seeking adventure in any weather!

Al has worked in the outdoors for over 10 years in a variety of different settings. He specialises in the therapeutic benefits that nature and adventure bring.

Spending time outdoors and exploring new places, especially hills and forests, is what he most enjoys.

He’s great at lighting fires and even better at lying in a hammock! He’s even been known to do a headstand on a paddleboard.

Having worked in IT for 10 years prior to OW, Hollie knew that the office life wasn’t for her. After settling in Bath and discovering the delights of paddling, she finally followed her dreams of working outdoors!

Hollie has always loved being outside; she went camping a lot as a kid and now enjoys exploring new places on her bike. In her own words, ‘I sleep better in a tent than my own bed!’

When she’s not working she likes to get away bike touring having built her own bike in her spare time. She can also be regularly found sampling the delights of cold water swimming! ‘Come on in, the water may be cold but it’s good for you!’

After backpacking in south-east Asia and living in Australia in his twenties, James’ eyes were opened to the possibility of a new and much more enjoyable way of life.

This prompted him to make the sideways shift from construction to outdoor instructing and he hasn’t looked back since!

When he’s not working he can mostly be found up the side of a mountain, touring his campervan or falling off a surfboard. James really believes in the benefits of being outdoors and enjoys every second of adventure!

Rachel has worked in outdoor education since 2003 – in our opinion she hasn’t had a ‘real job’ in over 18 years! Her work has taken her all over the world but she has now made Bath her home – an obvious choice!

Rachel is slowly exploring the South West coastline this summer in between Original Wild sessions where she maintains that although she *can* backflip off the SUP, there is no need to prove it…

Outside of work Rachel can be found either on or near a body of water, or on a mountain bike winging it down a steep hill!
